Attorney James J. Gribouski’s Client Found Not Guilty at Trial
February 26, 2016 – Central District Court of Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts
Attorney James J. Gribouski‘s client, a thirty-one year old Sutton, Massachusetts man, was stopped by a Shrewsbury Police Officer for driving the wrong way on Route 9 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. After having the client perform field sobriety tests, the officer arrested him for OUI/DWI. A subsequent search of his motor vehicle revealed approximately sixty nip bottles, both empty and full. A search of the client’s person revealed another nip bottle.
Attorney Gribouski obtained the police reports and booking video pertaining to his client’s arrest. He also obtained medical records of his client that reflected an injury to his foot near the time of arrest. Foot problems may affect performance on field sobriety tests even when a person is sober.
At trial, Attorney Gribouski extensively and vigorously cross-examined the police. He then rested without calling any witnesses. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty within 20 minutes.
